Platelets are small pieces of your blood cells, and they play a role in skin renewal, tissue regeneration, cell growth, and collagen synthesis. In fact, your body naturally delivers platelet cells to soft tissue injuries to aid in the healing process. The growth and healing capabilities provided by platelets are even more significant when you consider that they attract assistance from stem cells for further healing.

With platelet rich plasma (PRP) technology, you can have a high concentration of platelets delivered where they are most needed. We use this technology for a procedure that relies on using your own blood to provide a more youthful appearance.

During PRP, a very small amount of blood is drawn. The blood is then spun in order to separate the platelets so that they can be injected. We use a state-of-the-art technology called Harvest in order to deliver a high concentration of platelets and provide optimal healing conditions. Harvest provides a concentration of platelets that is four to six times higher than what is found in whole blood.

The platelets are injected to areas where you desire your skin to be lifted. A very small needle is used, and multiple spots are usually targeted for best results. This process rejuvenates your facial tissue, reduces wrinkles, and makes you look more youthful.

Since your own blood is used and no foreign materials are injected, the potential side effects are minimal. PRP can also work alongside other injectable treatments, such as BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®.
